Once upon a Christmas…

The whole december went so quick this year, I feel like I’ve only got a brief moment to sit down and have an update before I’m rushed off to do something else! This is going to be a quick post as I’m now surrounded by beautiful books and lovely bath stuff / body butter, also lots of kitchen gadgets to play with…

Let’s see what I’ve got for christmas this year! (not listing everything here but these are all my foodie related gains)

And the confections I made…

As you can see there’re quite a lot to make… and that’s just pre-xmas! The actual christmas day went pretty quick for me, no pictures were taken but I have been slaving in the kitchen all day! A whole turkey, salmon en croute, spiced cranberry sauce, bread sauce, honey & mustard gravy, maple butter carrots, parmesan parsnips, sprouts with lardon and pecan, roasties, oh boy I don’t think I’ve ever cooked sooooo much food! But I’ve been told it was good so it’s worth every minute of the hard work. 🙂

All in all, I had a brilliant time this christmas, and it’s true that you think about family more during the festive season. I’m missing the lost ones terribly this year and felt a bit lost at times, but now new year’s here and I seem to have picked myself up and starting to contemplate for future.
